Trimming Hercules, an Extremely Overgrown Clydesdale
Justin's latest task: Hercules.
Hercules is a 3 year old Clydesdale stud colt, who has had minimal human interaction and no experience having his hooves trimmed! If his hooves are unable to grow properly and he cannot walk, his owners have considered euthanasia.
His hooves are extremely overgrown and stretched. The owners had to give the horse a sedative in order for Justin to safely trim his hooves. These horses are only sedated by a veterinarian or the owner, and only if they are extremely dangerous or untrained.
He was able to fully trim one hoof and part of another before the dormosedan wore off completely! He should be able to get Hercules fully trimmed up on the next visit.
Check out the before and after!
